3rd Annual LCI Governor's Cup

Who: The Douglas Administration, Constitutional Officers, Legislators, Lake Champlain International, Inc., and Benefactors.
What: 3rd Annual LCI Governor's Cup: a good-natured, charity fishing derby. on Wednesday, June 9th, Governor Jim Douglas will host the 3rd Annual Lake Champlain International, Inc. (LCI) Governor's Cup charity catch-and-release fishing derby.
The purpose of this event is to focus attention
on Lake Champlain fisheries issues, water quality challenges, and conservation and the fishing heritage in an enjoyable, relaxed atmosphere while raising money for the Next Generation Fund and the Champlain Fisheries Recovery Initiative—a lake-wide effort to restore the watershed to its once former glory.
No boats are needed as all fishing will take place from the fishing pier at the access area, enabling all to share their thoughts with the Governor and legislators while fishing. The event will conclude with the ceremonial awarding of the LCI Governor’s Cup trophy to the team who catches the heaviest amount of fish. The winning team members’ names will be engraved on the trophy ensuring immortality.
